Peregrine Projects presents it's third member show of the year, Happy Hour: New work by Alexis Price and Shaun Richards. Price and Richards are both figurative painters whose similar themes frequently touch upon the exploration of identity, social dynamics, and the plasticity of narrative.
Happy Hour explores themes of engagement, entanglement, celebration, and distraction. However real, superficial or celebratory our engagement is with the world, it is often in opposition to the theater of life in a global perspective. Happy Hour implies a distraction or filter to separate our being in the moment from the big picture that we navigate privately. It is at that time that plans are hatched, feelings shared, jokes are made, and life is processed.
The opening is Friday, August 7th, from 7-10pm at Feed (the old Flanders Art Gallery location) and we will also have a closing event on Saturday, August 15th, also from 7-10pm. The work will be available to view by appointment during the week.
